New Year's resolution

yeah i know,, the first month of 2009 is almost over and i haven't blogged in almost a month. now that i'm blogging again, i want to start with my new year's resolution..

every year i make my own resolutions and try my very very best to stick to it but then eventually after several months of trying to keep i usually fail (well not all my resolutions tho but at least i am able to keep most of it)

this year i will change my technique and try to make it easier for me to be able to do the things that i want to do for my own good :) so i'll start...

1. Lessen my alcohol intake.
- yeah ive been going to parties and clubs for several years already and i think ive had enough so this year i would definitely avoid drinking unless i really have to.

2. Save save save.
- i need to save! last year i was able to reach 50% of how much i wanted to save but then i spent most of it for xmas gifts and the new business i was just starting.

3. Work Harder
- i know i've been working hard but i know i can still work harder in order to save more money for my future.

4. Focus!
- i know i can do whatever i want if i focus my energy and my mind into something. i need to focus on achieving all my goals and resolutions for 2009.

i saw this forwarded email message and thought that this is just the time to post it here since it has something to do with my first resolution. i admit i would sometimes drive even if i have been drinking. most of the time i sleep at my friends house but once in a while i go straight home so i end up driving even under the influence of alcohol. i just thank the lord for taking good care of me and protecting me from harm. so i want to pass this story hoping that those who are able to read this will also post it in their blogs or forward it in their emails.

Went to a party Mom
(read all the way to the bottom and sign your name)

I went to a party,
And remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
so I had a sprite instead.

I felt proud of
myself,
The way you said I would,
that I didn't drink and drive,
though some friends said I should.

I made a healthy choice,
And your advice to me was right.
The party finally ended,
and the kids drove out of sight..

I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece.
I never knew what was coming, Mom,
something I expected least.

Now I'm lying on the pavement,
And I hear the policeman say,
the kid that caused this wreck was drunk,
Mom, his voice seems far away.

My own blood's all around me,
As I try hard not to cry.
I can hear the paramedic say,
this girl is going to die.

I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high.
Because he chose to drink and drive,
now I would have to die.

So why do people do it, Mom
Knowing that it ruins lives?
And now the pain is cutting me,
like a hundred stabbing knives.

Tell sister not to be afraid,
Mom
Tell daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven,
put ' Mommy's Girl' on my grave.

Someone should have taught him,
That it's wrong to drink and drive.
Maybe if his parents had,
I'd still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter,
Mom I'm getting really scared
These are my final moments,
and I'm so unprepared.

I wish that you could hold me Mom,
As I lie here and die.
I wish that I could say, 'I love you, Mom!'
So I love you and good-bye.
